Ready for Kindergarten Classes

Ready

When it comes to learning, home is where the best start occurs. Young children learn best through active involvement with people they love and trust: their parents and family! They also learn best when repetition is frequent and in a secure environment: their home!

Activities for the Birth to Five Years:

READY! for Kindergarten™ classes encourage parents to talk, sing, read, and play with their child in simple ways that foster essential pre-literacy, pre-math, and social-emotional skills. Age-appropriate activities are designed to begin at birth and continue through age five. The curriculum is based on current research and replicates what parents and educators of successful students have done for years.

Participants Attend Three Classes
:

Parents and caregivers choose from one of five classes depending on their child's age and attend sessions three times per year. Each class is a 90-minute interactive lesson led by a trained instructor. The targets, materials, and tools used in class are for participants to take home and use with their child as they determine, based on their child's personality, abilities, and interests, and their family's values and culture.

Parents are Children's Most Powerful Teachers:

The READY! for Kindergarten program is designed to help parent participants prepare children with the early learning skills needed to start and stay at grade level throughout their scholastic career. You, the parent or caregiver, are your child's most powerful teacher. With READY! for Kindergarten you plant the seeds for success in school and a lifelong love of learning.

The Classes being offered in October (see below) are for parents with children 2-3 years old.  They will be held at the Early Learning Center and are FREE to families residing in the Franklin Pierce School District.
